BBN expands to Grande Prairie; program now in three Alberta communities

The Best Bar None program is now operating in three Alberta cities with the launch of BBN Grande Prairie on Friday, June 13.

Grande Prairie joins Edmonton and Calgary as partners in the program, which aims to reduce disorder, liquor-related harms and violence in and around licensed premises by recognizing and rewarding liquor-licensed establishments that meet a higher standard of operation.

AGLC CEO and President Bill Robinson, Grande Prairie Mayor Bill Given, Grande Prairie RCMP Superintendent Ray Noble and a host of the city's licensed establishments attended the launch event at the City on 99th offices. All in the room welcomed the opportunity to work together to provide a safer nightlife experience for residents of the northern Alberta city.

All eligible Grande Prairie licensed premises are invited to apply for accreditation. On-site assessments of all applicants will take place in September and October. The first group of successful accredited bars, pubs and lounges will be made public in late October, culminating in the city's first annual Accreditation and Awards Event in early November.
